Oral and Poster Presentation Guidelines
Oral Presentations
- Presenters will be allowed 15 minutes to deliver their paper and 5 minutes for questions.
- The use of PowerPoint presentations is strongly encouraged. A Windows computer with USB ports, one projector and a laser pointer will be available. The computer will have Microsoft Powerpoint, and PDF viewer software installed.
- Please arrive in good time before your scheduled session to make sure that your presentation will work with the equipment.
Some Pointers for Your Oral Presentation:
- Simple graphs, charts and diagrams are much more meaningful to an audience than complex, cluttered ones. Keep visuals CLEAR and SIMPLE.
- Try not to use unusual font type and light text colors (yellow, orange and so on).
- Keep color scheme consistent throughout your presentation. Changing colors and type styles can be very confusing and distract from your message.
- Check your presentation with installed equipment before your presentation.
- When asked a question during your presentation, repeat the question so that the entire audience knows what the question is.
Poster Presentations
- Your poster should have the size of a standard A0 (84.1 × 118.9 cm × cm = 33.11 × 46.81 in × in) in portrait layout.
- Posters should be laminated and have 4 small holes (punched) at the four corners, so they can be hanged on.
- Posters should include the title of the presentation, author(s), institution and country. We suggest that you place a reproduction of the abstract in the upper left side of the poster, and use the headings "Introduction", "Methods", "Results" and "Conclusions" to identify your poster layout. Please note that your illustrations should be readable from a distance of at least 1 meter!
- Posters will be presented orally by authors during flash-talks session (2 min for each poster). The poster session will be held in the morning of April 12th. Authors are requested to be available for questions of your poster during the breaks. You will be informed on the exact time of your presentation.
- Authors are requested to ensure that the posters are displayed by 8:00 AM on the first day and are removed by the end of the last day.
Some Pointers for Your Poster Presentation:
- It is recommended to keep text to a minimum, emphasize graphics, and present your results as graphs or tables.
- Hand carry your poster to the meeting, using tubular packaging or a portfolio case. Do not mail your poster to the conference headquarters or to the meeting site.
