Prior to the conference, there will be an educational meeting and workshop for interested participants especially students and young scientists. This includes field visit, laboratory exercises and brainstorming sessions. Sampling, educational meetings and laboratory exercises will be conducted in "Kheyroudkenar" Educational Forest in the central part of the Hyrcanian forests. Kheyrood-Kenar is a part of the little sea-port of Nowshahr city which itself is located in Mazandaran province of Iran. The distance between Caspian Sea and the Albourz mountains is less than 2 km in that area so the forests are not far away from the sea. Participants can take part from all over the world and 3 leaders from different countries will conduct the programs. This pre-conference educational meeting is aimed to teach participants how to gather raw data; present new advancements in data analysis and will emphasize climatic change studies based on tree ring traits.

Educational meeting and workshop will be held from April 6 to 10 in "Kheyroudkenar" Educational Forest (University of Tehran) located in Nowshahr.

We are applying for some financial supports and hopefully will be able to keep the registration fee as low as possible. Regarding this, we decided to assign the registration fee for Educational Meeting and Workshop to 250 USD which includes accommodation, meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner), local transport and scientific expendable materials. Part of the extra living costs, lab materials, local facility costs and meeting rooms will be covered by sponsors.
